ABOUT ME
My name is Ümit Yaşar Sürücü and I am an Unlimited Master Mariner & Marine Instructor.
I graduated from Istanbul Technical University Maritime Academy in 1990 and have been serving as Ocean Going Master since 1998. Throughout my career, I have commanded bulk carriers, container vessels, chemical tankers, LPG carriers and superyachts in international waters.
Since 2011, I have been working as an certified Unlimited senior Instructor as assigned by Turkish Marine Affairs, Canada IYT Schools and Transport Malta, teaching power and sailing seamanship up to 3000 GRT.
I am based in Göcek, Turkey — one of the most beautiful sailing destinations in the Mediterranean.
